Scuba diving is achieved by breathing through tubes attached to cylinders filled with oxygen. This enables you to breathe just as you do on land. You can go deep into the water so allowing you to explore a different world by breathing underwater like fish. The scuba diving kit was first made in 1942 by a German and French scientist.
On our Bodrum Scuba Diving tour programme we will pick you up from your hotel at 9 am and take you to the diving boat. If you are diving for the first time, our professional instructors will firstly show you safe practical signs on the boat that you will use under the water. These are very important because they will keep you save under the water. The training takes about 20 minutes. For a beginner a maximum depth of 7 metres will be reached.
Bodrum Scuba Diving professional instructors will prepare all the equipment for you and together you will submerge as a diver for the first time. You will dive with 1 tank of oxygen which typically lasts for about 20 minutes, which is more than enough time for your first experience. Our professional diver will show you amazing wildlife underwater that you might not notice if you were alone.
We have a professional photographer who will be snapping away at our guests and you will have the option to buy a beautiful set of photos after your adventure. These are great to take away with you so you remember the experience. After you dive a delicious lunch will be prepared for you.
Our professional diving guests who have already obtained a PADI or CMAS qualification dive twice during the day. The first dive is a bit of a refresher to about 10 or 12 metres, then after lunch, you will be able to dive to the depth that your qualification allows. Bodrum Scuba Diving has access to registered PADI or CMAS divers so don’t worry if you have forgotten your card.
If you enjoy your beginner dive enough to want to take it further, we offer a fully insured and professional PADI or CMAS diving course over 2 or 3 days. After you’ve completed your course you will be a qualified open water diver and presented with a certificate. Contact us directly for prices on the courses on offer.
There is no set price set by the diving federation in Bodrum and the prices are predominantly set between the tour companies and diving boats. Easy Book Tours offer 2 types of trip for Bodrum Scuba Diving. The first is a full day on the boat returning at around 16.30, and the other is a half-day trip returning at about 13.00 so you can fit another tour into your day. Both of these trips start at 9 am.
Some of the diving spots you may visit include Big Reef, Small Reef, Kurt Cape, Pinar Shipwreck, Coast Guard Boat Wreck, Plane Wreck, Lantern, Paçoz, Kaçakcı Bay, Perforated Cave, Poyraz, Flat Island, Axona, South End, Orak Island, Next Bay, Baracuda Bay, or Ottoman Anchor. You will not visit all of these sites but depending on the weather, currents and other uncontrollable conditions, 1 or 2 of the above will be chosen.
At its deepest point, it is 35 metres and at its shallowest its 7 metres. There are many varieties of fish to see here while scuba diving.
This 29-metre long boat was artificially sunk on 16th May 2007 at a depth of 17 metres going down to 35 metres deep. Because of the depth, only those divers with an open water qualification can reach this wreck.
This ship was used by the Turkish navy and sunk in 1939 in Koyraz Bay. It is huge measuring at 39 metres long and 7 metres wide. The wreck was donated to the BOSAD in May 2007 so it can be used on an artificial reef project.
This C-47 aircraft was donated to BOSAD and sunk in Pacoz bay in July 2008, just off the coast of Black Island so divers can appreciate it. The aircraft was used in the Turkish Air Force.
This cave is located on the Kos facing side of Black Island and takes about 40 minutes to get to from Bodrum.

It controls airflow from the air canister into the mouthpiece. It’s very important that it’s regulated correctly so you breathe normally.
This is a life jacket which is connected to the oxygen cylinder and filled with air. You can add and release air as you wish to control your balance under the water.
Before the diver enters the water, they are attached to the belt. Depending on the weight of the diver, more or less weights should be added. The Pick up time for this tour is between 8.30 am and 9 am from your accommodation and from there you will be taken to Bodrum harbour where the diving boat leaves from
On a day tour, 2 dive sites will be chosen. The sites chosen on the day depend on weather, sea currents etc
If you a beginner diver, you will be briefed on safety signals and use of equipment by the professional instructors. They will then choose you a wet suit, mask, and other necessary equipment. When you are prepared for the dive, your instructor will check everything then you will go into the water together.
If you are a qualified diver you will be helped choose your equipment, go over a few safety measures then be matched up to a diving buddy.
Beginner divers will be taken to a total depth of 5 metres. The instructor will be next to you the whole time and will show you things in the reefs that you wouldn't see by yourself.
Experienced divers can dive with their buddy to the depth on their qualification.
After everyone on the boat has had their first dive, lunch will be served to you on board. After lunch, the qualified divers get 1 more dive, while the beginner can relax on the comfortable cushions on deck or swim and snorkel nearby.
After the dives are complete, the boat will return to Bodrum harbour where a bus will be waiting to take everyone back to their accommodation.
